Happy Birthday my sweet boy! Ethan is now two! Instead of referring to this as the "Terrible twos" a wise friend offered her vote that they should be referred to as the "teachable twos" (Stephanie Mock). I think I will have to agree with her!
Our little baby boy is most definitely growing up! I have to admit that I think he is the cutest thing ever. He is full of smiles, giggles, energy, and fun! (However, he also has a bit of a whiny side that appears when he wants something...or something isn't going his way). We are trying to teach him to use his words instead of his whines!
Ethan had a great Birthday! We celebrated with the Royer side of the family on Saturday and enjoyed a BBQ and family fun! Ethan got a new Lawn Moyer and Buzz and Woody PJ's (that he LOVES) from Aunt Staci and Uncle Mike and money for his bank for the rest of the family. He enjoyed when everyone sang happy birthday and after quite a few attempts (and lots of spit) he finally blew out those candles.
Ethan enjoyed looking at books with Grandma Ro Ro and Rachel. :)
The funniest part of the night was when Ethan sat down to watch Toy Story. He sat in his bean bag and his cousin Rachel decided to come sit right next to him. We were trying to get a picture of them, so someone told Ethan to give Rachel a kiss. He bent over and plopped a nice kiss right on Rachel....but I don't think he was expecting what was coming next...
and then Rachel proceeded to grab Ethan....and give him some serious kisses. :) We were all cracking up at this! Check out the look on Ethan's face!
On Sunday, we celebrated with the Grezak side of the family. Ethan started off his day by going to church and enjoying the worship. During the music there was a picture of Jesus on the cross on the screen and Ethan shouted, "JESUS!" He got a few smiles from those around. ;) I was the teacher in the two year old classroom and Ethan was totally into the picture of Noah's Ark with all of his animals. He is a pro at naming all of his animals! He enjoyed the lesson about Jesus being our friend and wanted to hear it again when I was all done.
He came home so excited for another birthday party that he couldn't nap! For the first two hours of his "nap time" he was in bed saying, "hiya Mama (Grandma) Papa, hiya Mama Papa!" He finally fell asleep just as everyone was arriving! I had to wake him up, which made him a bit grumpy and shy.
He wasn't too into opening his presents, or it was just too much commotion for him...but he loves all of his new toys! He got a Toy Story race track from Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Larry (Rece and Brody, too). He got Toy Story 2 from Uncle Rick and Aunt Jill. Grandma and Papa got him all sorts of fun stuff - Magnetic tiles to build blocks, Toy Story Shake and Go car, a new Buzz and Woody...he also got new Leap Frog Tag Junior Books from Aunt Marlene, Uncle Paul, and Shelly. What a lucky boy! Ethan and all of his cousins sure had fun playing with all of the new toys!
If you haven't noticed Ethan is very much into Toy Story - but he also LOVES Cars! Every night before bed he watched a little part of either movie. So, he had a "Lighting McQueen" cake for his birthday! We had a friend make it for him (thanks Yvonne)!
Since all of the presents and excitement was a little much for Ethan we decided to wait until it was just the three of us to give Ethan our present. We didn't get any picture of him opening this - but we got him all of the cars from the movie - it was a set from the Disney Store. I wrapped them all separately (there were 20 of them) and he had a ball opening them up. He got excited at every car and kept saying, "another one!!!???" James is in the process of building him a big wooden garage set for him to play with the cars on - but in the meantime built him a small garage. He loves it! It was quite hard to put him to bed after getting all of this! He had tons of fun the next morning.
Ethan also recently had fun at his cousin, Rece's 4th birthday party! Rece's birthday was celebrated at the campground.
Here are a few of Ethan's "TWO year old" professional pics:

That is it for now...
