5 months!

Time keeps slipping by!

This month I have realized that Luke seems to be a little more high maintenance than Ethan was...? Or maybe I just forget? He wants attention ALL OF THE TIME! I can't just put him down on the floor or in his bouncy chair and walk away without him fussing or crying. When I walk back into sight he is happy again! How is a mama to get anything done? ;) ;)

He smiles whenever anyone talks to him. He giggles here and there - but we are still waiting for the full blown belly laughs. When you tickle him he stiffens up and holds it all in! Have I mentioned he is a really stiff baby? He isn't a huge cuddler. I try to rock him and he is just too fidgity! So, I put him in his crib and he goes asleep on his own (nice, I know)!

He is now going in the nursery at church! Yay! He went the past couple of weeks and they ladies there said he did great. Soooo nice to be able to sit through the whole church service and not leave or worry about him.

This month he had to say goodbye to Grams, he had fun celebrating Halloween, going on a hayride and pumpkin patch, and going on playdates. I haven't been feeling well for the past couple months so we have been laying a little low.

Luke is 4 months!

Our big boy is now 4 months old! Can't believe how quickly times goes. He is now 16 lbs 11 oz and 27 inches long. He is a great baby. He has been sleeping through the night since he was about 10 weeks old - I am so thankful. A lot of nights he sleeps from 7:00 pm at night until 7:00 am. There are other mornings that he wakes up at 5 or 6, has a bottle and goes right back to bed! So nice. He is also in a good routine during the day. He has a short morning nap, a long afternoon nap, and sometimes another short evening one. He loves his routine. :)

Unlike his brother, he is seems to like tummy time! (Ethan always hated it). He is strong and can keep his head up for a long time. He loves to sit up and look around. He has also gotten a lot more vocal - cooing and squealing. He sticks out his tongue a lot and tries to imitate. He is a master drooler and always has his hands in his mouth. Most of the time he is happy and smiling. :)

This past month we got to celebrate Dada's Birthday! Also Grandma came to visit. Luke loved spending time with her. Luke also joined me on a lot of walks and morning workouts. He has enjoyed going to watch big brother play basketball on Saturday mornings, too!

Our first month with Luke

We enjoyed our first month with little Luke - but, of course, the first few weeks with a newborn also come with their challenges! We were all feeling sleep deprived!

It is summertime for Ethan so we tried to keep him busy. The first week after Luke was born Ethan went to Vacation Bible School at Bay Life at night. The next week James went back to work and Ethan went to a YMCA day camp at Camp Christina! He was able to go on a zip line, swim in the Lake, go down huge water slides - so much fun!

I couldn't just sit home - so we tried to keep busy and even had a few playdates! Luke didn't like being in the car during this first month - he did a lot of screaming. Eeks! At one point Ethan had enough and said, "I feel like I am going to start crying if he keeps crying!" Ha! Luke loves to suck - so he loves his pacifier. (Total opposite from Ethan).

It is sooo hard to keep Luke awake! He is always sleeping (during the day). I try so hard to wake him and no matter what position he is in, he stays asleep. ;)

At Luke's 2 week dr appointment he already grew almost 2 inches since birth! He was 21 3/4 inches long and 9 lbs 1 oz. Tall boy! At his one month appointment he was 22 1/2 inches long (93%) and 10 lbs 10 ounces (74%).

Coming home from hospital!
