Can you believe Ethan is 1/2 year!?

Ethan turned 6 months yesterday! The poor little guy spent has spent the whole week around his six month birthday in an out of the doctors office. He is just starting to get better from this sickness that whipped his little butt! He had a bad case of bronchiolitis (RSV). We had to keep him home from daycare all last week - which makes it difficult for two working parents. I stayed home for 2 1/2 days, James took 1 day off, and then thankfully we had a snow (Cold day) on Friday (otherwise Grandma Grezak was going to watch him). He was finally back at school today - but still battling a  lot of the icky symptoms. Ethan had lost a couple of ounces while he was sick, since he lost his appetite - but no need to worry - he has gained his appetite back, gained his weight back - plus more. He is now 20 lbs 1.5 oz!

Even though he has been sick, that hasn't stopped him from smiling. He sure does have a personality! He is loud (which I think I have mentioned before) and (almost) always smiling. He still likes to experiment with all different sounds (gurgles, squeals, and most recently a little whimper that almost sounds like Dakota). You can tell that he is anxious to start moving around. As soon as you lay him on his back, he immediately rolls to his stomach...then gets upset that he can't do anything else. He is just starting to lift up his little butt when he is on his tummy....maybe the very, very beginning stages of crawling? He is also starting to "rebel" (as I call it) when we try to put him in his car seat or give him his breathing treatment. He lifts his tummy up and tries his hardest to escape. I have a feeling we are going to have our hands full with this little munchkin.

EVERYTHING goes in his mouth. That is his main goal with his toys. He pretty much looks like he is attacking everything that goes in his hands. He has two little chompers making their way through his bottom gums. One tooth is already showing and the other ones is well on its way.

He has also learned from his friends at school exactly what to do in that jumperoo. The last couple of days he has started really going crazy in that thing. It has me laughing every time I watch him. ;o)

Now that he is 6 months, his monthly picture proved to be a little bit more difficult. He was very interested in grabbing Mommy's sign, eating it, and then rolling around the floor rather than sitting. So, this is what our photo shoot looked like....(notice the sign is all wet)...

Ethan loves Dakota!

Ethan has really been paying attention to Dakota lately. In fact, he thinks Dakota is more entertaining than Mommy and Daddy.  He has been petting and grabbing Dakota - luckily Dakota is really good with Ethan. Today, for the first time, Dakota had him laughing a ton! Check out the video... :) He did this for quite a while - laughing every time Dakota shook her head with her toy. James and I found this pretty funny, too. Luckily I had my camera close by!

Good thing we didn't get rid of Dakota all of those times I was (and still am) tempted to! ;o) he he he

It all started with "Oh Holy Night."

We have quite the worshipper on our hands. Either that - or he just really enjoys singing and being a ham! He was a perfect angel during the Christmas Eve Service at church. He sat on Daddy's lap the whole time and was SILENT! At the very end, we all lit our candles and stood to sing "Oh Holy Night." That is when Ethan came to life. He literally "sang," squealed, gurgled, and flapped his little arms and legs through the whole song. He had both James and I cracking up. The last two Sunday's in church he has done the same thing through the music. We have had several people commenting on how Ethan enjoys the worship. :)

Ethan is definitely not a quiet baby. We aren't sure where he got his "loudness" from - because James and I are both on the quieter side. Ethan likes everyone to hear him. It is almost always "happy talk" - but he likes to make his presence known! He has really been developing his personality. He has been laughing a lot and just enjoying life.

We had a great Christmas with our little guy and spending time with friends and family. Here are some pictures from the past few weeks.
