Ethan celebrated his 8 month Birthday yesterday. As the months pass, it seems harder and harder to get these "month" pictures. Whenever he sees my little sign he wants to grab it. :)
Overall Ethan is doing great. He is sleeping good at night and a happy little guy during the day. He is very content to just sit and play with his toys. He gets very excited about a lot of his toys (Tickle Me Elmo, V-tech Sit/Play Walker, his little house that we borrowed from his cousins, etc). He also loves his books. He is always up for sitting in Mommy or Daddy's lap to listen to a good book. His favorite is, "How Big is Baby Elmo." He is also now enjoying his baths. He goes in the bath tub and loves to splash like crazy. I usually end up wet by the time the bath is over.
He isn't crawling yet...we have been trying to "show" him, but he doesn't seem interested quite yet. He is able to stand quite well if we put his hands on something.
Ethan sure is a "talker." He is very loud and jabbers like crazy. His current sound is "babababababa." He still enjoys making the gurgling sound and sticking out his tongue and blowing. Just recently he has starting shaking his head back and forth like "no." We look at him and say, "Yes, yes, yes," and shake our heads up and down and he thinks that is just hilarious. :)
Today we went back to U of M to get new measurements on Ethan's head. We got good news! His head does seem to be improving on its own. The rounded parts of his head grew 2 mm and the flat part grew 5 mm - so it seems to be "catching up." When we went to the specialist the first time it was 9 mm difference and now it is a 6 mm difference. The doctor said that is the same type of improvement he would look for in a baby who was wearing the helmet! So, we are still leaning towards not doing anything. We will go back in another month to make sure that it continues to improve on its own.
He is so adorable Kim..but that is no surprise! I can't get over how big Bordy is now too, have not seen Him since he was about 6 weeks at your moms place. We will have to get them all together sometime for a play date once you have had time to move, and Jill has had her baby and things settle down.
